OJ

I can't get enough orange juice... particularly McDonald's orange juice. I'm not sure what kind they use but I love it! This afternoon I whimpered like a little baby until Josh offered to go to McDonald's to get me some. I went with him and got two large orange juices!

We had a wonderful Christmas with our families and I got some maternity clothes! I haven't tried anything on and I don't need them quite yet, but just having them is exciting. The little unborn baby made out pretty good too! Some blankets, booties, books, etc...

Tomorrow will start the 13th week of the pregnancy so hopefully the morning sickness will go away pretty soon. It seems to strike every morning around 10. Neena (Josh's mom) gave me some things to try out that should help with the queasy feeling so let's hope those work! Food is getting difficult for me because I always feel hungry but NOTHING (other than oj) sounds appetizing. I'm still tired ALL the time. I thought that was going away but i was definitely wrong. I can't remember the last full day I went without a nap. I actually enjoy my weekend naps, it's just tough during the week. And no, the zits certainly aren't going away anytime soon! It seems like every time I look in the mirror another one has popped up... gross.

11 weeks 4 days

I had another doctor appointment today and we got to hear the heartbeat again! What a relief! The doctor said that at this point my chances of miscarriage went from 30% to 2%! Everything else was perfectly normal. I actually ended up losing some weight, probably due to my pickiness and nausea. At this point I feel like I've already eaten everything there is an have gotten sick of it. Not much sounds good to me anymore. I'm hoping that will change as the doctor said I should be feeling better within the next 10 days. Let's hope so, I'm tired of not wanting to eat. I'm a Daigle, dammit! That's just not in my genes!!

Josh came to the appointment. He was late because he was stuck at work in an insurance meeting but he arrived just in time. I was very happy to have him there. I started to panic a little when the nurse said I'll be done before even shows up. Stupid nurse.

I threw up again a few days ago. Gross. Onions and Tums don't taste good coming back up together.

I was told at my first appointment that I could still color my hair. I think I'll be doing that soon.

Josh has been calling this baby Festivus... I don't know if it'll stick, but we'll see.

Vomit

Yesterday was interesting. I woke up feeling okay, i was a little crampy and had a mild headache. When I got out of the shower I went to make a bagel. Before I even walked into the kitchen I could spell the cinnamon and the raisins on the bagel which I though was odd. I toasted and cream cheesed the bagel (like I've done every morning before for the past 2-3 weeks and went about my morning routine. I only managed to eat about 1/2 the bagel because it filled me up quickly for some reason. I finished getting ready and on my way out the door I popped a few Tums to help with the crampiness in my tummy. Driving to work made my head hurt a little more and I started dry heaving... gross. By the time I got to work I felt horrible. I was only at my desk for about 15 minutes when I ran to the bathroom and got rid of those cherry flavored Tums... they taste gross going in and 100% worse coming back out! I went back to my desk and informed my boss that I'd probably be leaving early because I felt so awful. Ten minutes later I'm back in the bathroom getting rid of the rest of the Tums and the bagel. I decided that I was going to leave work right then because I didn't want to be that sick while trying to deal with the annoying and smelly people there... I'd probably throw up on them (which I'd actually enjoy too much). I puked a few more times and then went to sleep for hours. I had some saltines and ginger ale later in the day which made me feel better.

As horrible as I felt it was kind of a relief. Earlier in the week I felt so good/normal that I would've never guessed that I was pregnant. So this episode was a nice jolt back to reality!

9 weeks

I'm 9 weeks today and everything seems to be going okay.

Friday night was pretty exciting because I started throwing up! We just got in bed to watch a movie and all of a sudden I was sprinting for the bathroom saying goodbye to all the tastey Thanksgiving leftovers. I felt okay yesterday and today. Very tired but only mild nausea.

I'm going for my next dr. appointment in about 3 weeks and I'm pretty nervous, but excited as well.

8 weeks 2 days

Today is Festus' due date... weird.

I'm 8 weeks 2 days and a little nervous. Festus made it to 8 weeks and 3 days. I still feel pretty sick and tired, in fact I feel sicker this week than I ever have. I thought I was going to puke on a few different people today but ended up just burping... sorry!

I'm going to go take a nap.

Ultrasound!

I went for my first ultrasound yesterday and Josh came with me. All day I was very nervous, moody and anxious because I had a bad feeling something was wrong. We got in there and the woman doing the ultrasound found the baby right away (not like last time where it was an act of God to find it) and said everything looks great! We got to see his little heart beating and then we got to listen to it. That was the best sound in the world! I recorded it on my phone so I can listen to it over and over again! The baby is 3/4 of an inch long and today is 7 weeks and 6 days.

Different Symptoms

So far this pregnancy has been a lot different than the first. I'm much more sensitive to smells, sights and even the thought of certain smells (fish) and sights (melted cheese). I'm very nauseous pretty much 24/7, very tired and emotional. Yesterday I spent the day being tired, hungry, nauseous and weepy... poor Josh. From what I hear feeling nauseous is a good thing so as much as I hate to say it... "bring it on!!"

Ginger ale and cheerios are the only things that sound good most of the time. Sometimes pasta and sometimes crackers and cheese.

Last night while I was watching TV they kept playing Papa John's commercials. The sight of the greasy cheesy pizza with greasy bacon on top was enough to make me gag. Even thinking about it 24 hours later makes me quiver. Damn you, Papa John's.

I felt very ill at work today and it must of been quite obvious because my boss kept checking in on me and seemed very concerned. I decided to tell her so she would relax a little and leave me be. Also because I'm going to be missing a decent amount of work for upcoming appointments and this way she'd know why and not think I was becoming like the other deadbeats at work. She seemed excited for me but of course had to mention "only 9 months to find and train a replacement while you're out!" I can't wait. :)

Let's Try This Again

I'm trying out blogging during my pregnancy again. But this time this blog shall remain secret for a few more months. Here's a recap for those who don't know the whole story. I found I was pregnant March 2008. In May 2008 i went to my 12 week appointment and was told that I had lost the baby. Two weeks later my doctor called to inform me that I had a partial molar pregnany, I had to be monitored weekly/monthly because the tissue that was in me could grow back and turn into cancer and that I couldn't try again for 6-8 months. You can visit this site for more information on partial molar pregnancies: http://my.clevelandclinic.org/disorders/molar_pregnancy/hic_partial_molar_pregnancy.aspx

I had to have weekly blood tests for about 3 weeks. Because my HCG levels were dropping quickly I was able to start having monthy testing done. In September 2008 I found an article online about partial moles that indicated I only had to wait 3 months before I started trying again instead of the 6-8 months my doctor had said. I called my doctor the next day to discuss this. I told her about the article and that it's already been three months and I didn't want to wait any longer. She told me to get one more blood test and if it was negative I could start trying again. I did as she instructed and got the negative test result I was so desperate for. One month later I was pregnant. I had to have two blood tests done the last week in October to make sure that the HCG levels were rising normally and last week I had my first prenatal exam. In two weeks (at 7 weeks/5 days preg) I'm having an ultrasound to make sure the pregnancy is progressing normally and if so I'll go back in four weeks. So far so good!
