40 Week Check
The doctor thinks it'll be another week before the baby arrives since I was so late with Jack. We'll see...

39 Weeks
Nothing much to report. The doctor checked us all out and the baby seems to be pretty content right where he is. I'm anxious to meet him so I'd like him to come out.

Words I Want to Remember
Eggs
Me: "Are you hungry?"
Jack: "Yes."
Me: "Do you want some eggs?"
Jack: "No, eggs are boring!"
Nut
Jack walks up to me looking at me with his binoculars.
Jack: "I see a nut."
Me: "Jack, you're looking at me."
Jack: "Yes, you're a big nut!"
Problems
We were beside another toddler and his parents at the store tonight. The child was fussing while jack was on his best behavior. Jack looks at the kid then looks back to me and says, "that baby has a problem."
"I love you mama, you're my most favorite mommy in the whole world!"
Jack was laying on the couch in nothing but a shirt, with a sippy cup and his hand on his junk:
Me: "um, what are you doing?"
Jack: "I'm laying here touching my testicles and drinking my chocolate milk."
Silly question I guess.
"Mama, I'm getting old. I dont want to get old."
Taking about his stuffed animal:
"He has big feet and big toes and hands and armpits."

32
32 days without a poopy diaper... I think it's safe to say that he's kicked that habit (until the baby comes, at least).
I'm at the point where I'm going to the doctor weekly. I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow and the Friday after Thanksgiving is my last day of work... THANK GOD. I'm totally ready for this baby, mentally and physically. I can't wait to meet him. Now if we could only decide on a name.
Jack has entered a phase where he's terrified of many things and has re-entered his most familiar phase of being a terrible sleeper. I guess he's just getting us ready for the new baby. Thanks, buddy!

17
Today was day 17 of Jack pooping in the potty instead of in a diaper... I'm so proud of him! And I'm pumped about not having to change poop diapers!
On the car ride home from Portsmouth the other day we had the following conversation:
Jack: "Wow, this is a big boogie!"
Me: "Why don't you give that to mama to throw away."
Jack: "No, I want to throw it away."
Me: (Reaching back with a napkin) "Here, throw it away in this napkin."
Jack: "No, mama, I just want to ride with this boogie for a little bit."
Yesterday I went to my 34 week check-up. Everything looks great with my baby and with Jack's. When the doctor walked in the room Jack was laying on the exam table with his shirt up ready to hear the heart beat of 'his' baby. The doctor was great and played along. My last day of work will be the day after Thanksgiving... that's three more weeks... I can do it!
We still don't have a name for this little guy :(.

Words
"actually" - "we're actually going to meme and pa's house" He said this on our way to my parents house after I told him where we were going.
"probably" - "it's probably dark out, mama" He said this at 8pm while looking out the window.
"leave (insert whatever hes playing with) alone." He says this when he stops using/playing for some reason and will return to it.
"i'll be right back"
Hmm, there are others that I can't remember at the moment. These don't look like they'd be that humorous but they are coming out of my 2 year olds mouth.

baby wish list
I've registered at Babies'R'Us for random things that I'm going to need for baby. I really only did it because I got a free gift card out of it but as I was going I realized that there's a few things that I'm going to need. I also threw some things on there for Jack's Christmas, I didn't think it would hurt... it makes a great Christmas list. Of course I'm not expecting ANYTHING but if someone wanted to get us something and wasn't sure what to get, anything from the list would be greatly appreciated.
I'd really like a glider and ottoman, but I didn't put one on the list because there's gotta be cheaper places to get them. I heard Mardens is a good place so I'm going to check them out. I'm just a little hesitant about used ones, unless I know where it's coming from since my kids will be in contact with it.

Toilet
Every day when Jack and I get home I take his diaper off and we practice using his toilet. We've been pretty successful and he goes about 4-5 times on the toilet before he's diapered for bed. The most sucess is when he's naked. He likes to wear his big boy undies but we aren't always able to get them off in time to make it to the toilet so he's usually naked.
In the middle of dinner tonight he got up from his table and told us he was going to go pee. He sat down on the toilet and was very quiet with his head down. Then he looks up at me and says, "i pooping like papa!" And sure enough, he pooped in the toilet!! Thanks for the inspiration, papa!!
We're so proud!

Two Year Check-up
Jack got to perform all his tricks for the doctor today at his check-up. He's in the 90 percentile for for height and 75% for weight. The doctor was impressed by the size of his feet... that's my boy! Jack is very healthy and very smart, his vocabulary and sentences wowed them. The doctor also said that he's blown away by Jack's behavior and attitude, that some of it's genetics but most of it is because of how he's raised and that Jack's parents have this rearing a child thing down! That was a wonderful thing to hear! Of course, we also have his grandparents to thank as they play a large role in the rearing of our guy. And no shots!!

we're making progress...
Jack HATES getting water in his face when I was his hair, he will fake cry until I stop. Yes, it's completely FAKE crying. Today he drenched himself over and over in the face and entire head... he did the dirty work for me and he thought it was hilarious! I've got some video of it that I'll post soon. What a relief!
Jack also went pee pee on the toilet twice tonight. Everytime I change his diaper, I give him the option of keeping it off if he tells me when he has to go to the bathroom. He agrees but then tells me a little later, "mama, diaper on now." I ask him if he wants to try the toilet and he says no and asks for his diaper again. Tonight, he asked for the toilet... twice! He's very proud of himself, and so are we!
And he added to all this joy by pulling the cat's tail until she cried... ugh.

It's a Boy... again!!

The appointment went great, it looked like it was goint to be difficult to find out the gender until the baby pretty much sat right on the ultrasound wand... he was not shy!
I haven't gained any weight yet, but they don't seemed to be concerned. Everything is measuring on track for the Dec 11 due date. Yay!
Coming up with names is a little more difficult this time around.

Sweetness
Jack's been epecially sweet today. While in the tub i could here him saying, "i love momma" and "Momma, i love her" over and over. He told me that I'm pretty and that the lunch i gave him was 'awesome'.
He's starting to say "What is this/it?" instead of just "what is" or "what this?"
He's been saying "for a minute/second for a few weeks now but he's used it a lot today. "Jack go in the garage for just a minute." "Jack sit on the blanket for just s second." "Jack go in the house for a minute." And also, "Jack play in the sandbox in a bit."

saying
"what/who is?" or "what/who this?"
"Look!" or "Watch me!"
He's been saying please and thank you more and more without having to ask him to.
He enjoys reading Goodnight Moon or the Runaway Bunny before bed. He's pretty much 'reading' them to me now.
His new favorite song (again) is Tiptoe thru the Tulips.
I can't believe it's been two years! Two years ago to the minute I was begining to feel contractions, even though I thought I just had to poop. :)

Where's the baby?
Jack knows that we're going to have a baby and it's in my belly. We discussed it again today, and apparently, he too is carrying child! I was informed that there's a baby in mama's belly and there's a sleeping baby in Jack's belly.

13 weeks w/ baby 2
I was 13 weeks on Sunday and had a checkup yesterday. The baby has a very strong heartbeat, I' ve been losing weight since the start of the pregnancy due to no appetite (or beer) and my next appt it's july 5. When the doctor lifted my dirty to listen for the heartbeat, jack pulled it back down, this happened afew times. He also called one of the nurses 'hunny' as we were leaving.

YES
For months now, Jack has been saying 'OK!' instead of 'Yes'. About a week ago he started throwing some 'Yes's in the mix. Now he uses 'Yes' like he's supposed to.
He rarely says 'thank you', instead he skips right to 'you're welcome'.
If you start singing Bird is the Word he starts dancing like a maniac.
He can do "ear muffs".

Updates
I'm pretty sure that those that read this blog already know... and if you don't, well then surprise, I'm pregnant. I was 8 weeks on Sunday and I'm due 12/11/11. I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks 1 day and according to the tech, everything looks perfect and I'm measuring right on for 7 weeks. The picture looks like rather bizarre but I'll take her word for it. I've had terrible morning sickness, to the point where I end up on the bathroom floor at work crying, (sexy, I know). I have no appetite, even when I feel good, and I didn't think it was possible to feel as tired as I do. My next checkup is next week.
No matter how hard I tried to get Jack to say 'Thank you' he now skips over that part of the conversation and will say 'please' and 'you're welcome'. Oh well, at least he's being polite.
His hair is growing back in, but instead of growing out, it's growing up into a little helmet/fro.
He likes to talk to the baby that's in mama's belly and thinks he's the cat's meow when he exclaims that he's a big brother.
His new favorite songs are "That's What an Excavator Does," "Dozer for Short," and "Impact Hammer."
He LOVES LOVES LOVES corn on the cob, watermelon and broccolli.
He's incredibly gentle and sweet. Every now and then we get a preview of The Terrible Twos but it's rare. He's learned how to play nice with the cats and my parents' dogs.
He loves dragons and says it in the cutest 'scary' voice.
And now I need to think of a new clever title for the blog since there will be four of us.

19 Month Checkup
His measurements are identical to mine when i was 19 months! 34in tall and 29lbs. He's in the 90% for height and 75% for weight. The doctor was impressed with pretty much everything, especially his vocabulary and temperment (toot toot) and said that he was developmentally at a 2 year old level.
Jack is putting 2 and 3 words together to make mini sentences (yesterday was "Binkie's being silly"). He can count to 10ish, say some of the alphabet and can identify some colors and shapes.
Jack has a new pet, Melgar the turtle. He LOVES him! (no he doesn't touch him and Josh and I wash our hands when we do).
His new favorite song is Be Bop a Lula by Gene Vincent. He sings along and will sing the 'baby' part when i point to him.
He goes to bed or for a nap without any residence at all. We can put him right down in his bed without any problems... if we (I) wanted to, but i really enjoy the bedtime cuddles.
He LOVES LOVES LOVES garlic humus and likes raw onions.
He hasn't had a hair cut yet and i don't know when he will. I'm loving his lovely locks. His eyes are hazel. In the sun he has a mustache. He still has his ear tab.
He loves being naked. Whenever he has clothes on he tugs at them and says 'off' until i take them off. When he just has a diaper off he tugs at that too saying 'diaper off'. I can usually get away with him running around naked for about 1/2 hour without any accidents.
He recognizes happy and sad faces. He can make many animal sounds, including owl, eagle and grackle (he loves birds).
I've started seriously toddler proofing the house because he's getting into everything!! He's also starting to get an attitude when he's not impressed with something. I'm not looking to the terrible twos.
The doctor said that he's such a loving, smart and happy boy because his parents and other care takers are so patient and loving with him. "He's a very lucky little boy and I give you all an A++!"

Poop
Lately, Jack has been letting us know when he has to poop. It first started with him telling us when he was pooping but now he gives us a warning. Because of this I got him a little potty and sat it next to the toilet in the bathroom, just so he could get used to it. I explained to him that that's where poop and pee pee go, so now when he sees it he'll point and say either 'poop' or 'pee pee'. Last week he told me he had to poop so I asked him if he'd like to poop on his toilet, he said yes! I took his diaper off and told him to sit on the toilet, he said no. Fearing that he'd poop on the floor I put his diaper back on. With his diaper on, he sat on his toilet and pooped. He has done this two more times since. He always tells me when he has to poop, each time I'll ask him if he wants to poop on the toilet, sometimes it's yes, sometimes no. But I couldn't be more excited that he's becoming more aware of his body and is really starting to put things together.
