7(ish) Months

Better late than never...

Jack is crawling and cruising like a madman. He can also walk while pushing things that roll. He's been waving for a few weeks and we've been practicing 'high five'.

He's fallen in love with prunes. He can't seem to get enough of them. I love most baby food, but prunes are nasty! Better for him, I guess, because mommy won't eat them all!

Here is the 7 month shot... not so great because he made it very difficult. All he wanted to do was move.

Food

Jack has been eating all sorts of new food. We've introduced vegetables into is diet along with protein type dinners, such as chicken and turkey. He LOVES his chicken dinners! Tonight we tried turkey which he also enjoyed. I also got mac 'n' cheese before I remembered that it's probably not a great idea to give him 'cheese'. Maybe tomorrow we'll try beef. On his high chair table he has his sippy cup of water to wash down his dinner. Too cute!

I'm working on getting his 7 month picture taken and posted. But now that he doesn't like to sit still it makes it difficult and dangerous. Most of the pictures came out blurry or were pictures of the ceiling.

Moving

Jack is crawling like crazy and it's hard to keep up! I have to get some more baby gates to keep him in one place, otherwise he's gone. Yesterday he "cruised". That is when they stand up holding onto something and walk. He was after a book I was holding so I threw it to the far end of the couch. He pulled himself up and while holding himself up with the couch, walked down to the other end of it. I'm in trouble...

He's 7 months old today!

6 Month Checkup

Jack has his 6 month check up this week (even though he's closer to 7 months) and it went very well. He weighs 18lbs 13oz and is 28.5" long. He's in the 30th percentile for weight and the 80th for height. He passed all the doctor's 'tests' and even impressed her with his leg strength. As a 'test' she puts the baby down on their belly to see what the baby will do. Jack was not having it, he did not want to be on his belly and would not allow. She tried three times to get him to lay down and he kept bringing his legs underneath him to sit up. She was very impressed and said that's pretty advanced, along with the fact that he can pull himself up to standing.

He got four shots and wasn't much of a trooper this time. It was much harder for us this time because he was desperately reaching for me but i could pick him up. It broke my heart.

We were told that he should now be eating cereal twice a day, for breakfast and dinner, can start using a sippy cup, and start drinking a little water. I got him some veggie baby food, suggested by the doctor, and his very own sippy cup. He wasn't that skilled with this new cup but I helped him and he got a few good sips of water which he didn't seem to mind. For dinner last night he had cereal and sweet potatoes which he seemed to enjoy. Tonight he had carrots which he clearly HATED.

For the last 8 days Jack has slept through the night (for the most part). He's woken up a few times and cried but we left him cry it out and he went back to sleep on his own. The crying only lasted a few minutes... i think the longest he had to cry for all week was 6 minutes. He's finally starting to sleep!!! Now that I've written this I'm sure he won't sleep for a month...

He's an incredibly happy baby and I feel so blessed that he's in my life.

Updates...

Jack can sit up by himself and he can crawl! His crawling looks like he's a little drunk, but he's doing it!

Updates

Jack is on the verge of crawling... he's able to move a 'step' forward but then he falls. He's able to shimmy and pivot so it's time to start baby proofing everything.

He got his first tooth two weeks ago and he's starting to use it. When I feed him he chops down on the spoon and will not let go!

Jack was baptized on January 24th. He was a very good boy considering he's not a fan of strangers or having them dump water on his head.
He's still not the best sleeper but we've been getting a few good nights out him. We had to move his mattress down to a lower setting because he's able to pull himself up a little on the sides of the crib, such a big boy!
He's the cutest and sweetest baby that's ever existed.

Here's a video of Jack's silly eating habits and a shot of the baptism.

I know I'm pretty late posting this picture, but better late than never. In this picture Jack is 6 months old.

And he now has his first tooth!
